Topshop owner Arcadia is ramping up its international expansion with plans to open 150 franchise stores next year.
The group, owned by billionaire tycoon Sir Philip Green, will open stores in Australia, Vietnam and Canada across brands including Topshop, Topman, Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge and Burton, according to The Telegraph.
Topshop is set to open its first standalone store in New Zealand in 2014. It is also this month expanding its tie-up with US department store group Nordstrom from 14 to 42 shop-in-shops.
It is understood that Topshop is in talks about opening five more wholly owned stores in the US. It already has flagship stores in New York, Chicago, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
Green is also eyeing a move into China after Topshop’s launch in Hong Kong in June.
Topshop’s expansion comes after Green sold 25% of the business to US private equity firm Leonard Green & Partners in a deal that valued Topshop at £2bn.
