Poundland is opening 11 shops in 11 days as part of an expansion programme in which the retailer will open more than 50 stores this year.
The single-price retailer opened the doors of five stores last week from June 19 and is opening the remaining six this week by Saturday, creating 300 new jobs across the UK.
The openings take the retailer’s estate to more than 450 stores.
Poundland’s chief executive Jim McCarthy said: “Our growth strategy for this financial year is to open at least 50 new stores and we are well positioned to not only meet, but exceed our target. We have a very exciting year ahead.
“Poundland continues to go from strength to strength and we are proud to bring the Poundland retail proposition to thousands more customers and to support the economy through the creation of new jobs.”
This month Poundland also refreshed its in-store marketing and signage to allow customers to navigate stores more easily.
