Head, the entertainment chain set up by the boss of defunct music retailer Zavvi, is understood to be closing its four stores less than a year after opening.
Both Leeds and Dundee stores are conducting Closing Down Sales, with staff in the Leeds store saying that Head’s other shops in Bristol and Birmingham are also closing.
Head had already shut stores in Liverpool and Sheffield this year.
Zavvi’s former chief executive Simon Douglas, along with Les Whitfield, chief of entertainment retailer Impulse, formed the retailer after the collapse of Zavvi in December last year.
He bought back a handful of stores from the administrator in February, but Retail Week revealed they were only taken on short-term leases, raising questions over Head’s long-term plans.
Head could not be reached.
