ModelZone administrator Deloitte is to close another ten stores as its store closure programme accelerates.
Deloitte started shutting the retailer’s stores last month, initially earmarking five stores out of the retailer’s original 47-store estate and putting 45 jobs at risk.
Now, another 10 stores have been identified for closure.
The shops will now be shuttered in the next two weeks, putting another 66 jobs at risk and taking the retailer’s store estate to 32.
A Deloitte spokesman said: “The joint administrators to Modelzone are still trying to find a potential buyer for some or all of the stores. Unfortunately, to date no such purchaser has come forward.”
Last month Deloitte successfully sold ModelZone’s wholesale business Amerang to rival firm Ripmax.
ModelZone fell into administration on June 27 on the back of two years of losses due to unprofitable new stores combined with growing online competition.
