Deliveries from Ocado’s Andover customer fulfilment centre are currently suspended, due to an ongoing fire at the facility.
According to Ocado, the fire started “in a section of the ambient grid” at the facility in Andover, Hampshire this morning.
The online grocer said “all relevant safety measures were carried out as planned”, and that no Ocado staff had suffered any injuries.
Ocado confirmed that “a proportion of the mechanical handling equipment and some of the grid” at the depot had been damaged in the fire.
The BBC reports that the Fire Brigade remain onsite and are ”still battling the fire”.
Operations at the site remain suspended and deliveries are not being dispatched.
A spokesman refused to comment on when the depot would reopen or how much damage had been caused.
Ocado said it will provide further updates “as appropriate”.
The fire comes on the same day that Ocado reported its financial results for the 2018 financial year.
Ocado posted an annual pre-tax loss of £44.4m, compared to a restated loss of £9.8m the previous year.
