Luxury lingerie chain Agent Provocateur has moved back into the black, posting a £1.1m pre-tax profit last year compared with a £1.8m loss the previous year.
According to the Sunday Times for the year to March 2011 underlying earnings before tax, interest and other financial charges trebled from the year before, to £3.3m.
Sales rose by 8% to £26.7m with the company reporting that current trading is strong with like-for-like sales over the past five months up 11%.
The chain, which has around 53 stores worldwide, is set to open further stores in locations including Milan, Florence and Barcelona.
In May Agent Provocateur hired Debenhams finance director Chris Woodhouse as chairman saying he would bring “depth of UK and international experience” to the retailer.
