Womenswear retailer Alexon Group has appointed former House of Fraser deputy chief executive and group finance director David Adams as non-executive director to advise on its turnaround strategy.
Adams, who left House of Fraser in 2006 and is currently chairman of electricals retailer Jessops, will join Alexon on September 1.
Before joining House of Fraser in 1997, Adams had also worked at Burton Group (now part of Arcadia), where he was divisional finance director. He was also non-executive chairman of menswear business Moss Bros until March, when he stepped down from the role.
Alexon, which owns the Ann Harvey, Dash, Kaliko, Minuet, Eastex and Alexon fascias, said that Adams has a strong background in refinancing business, property strategy and managing process for sales and acquisitions.
Adams is also a non-executive director at the British Retail Consortium, sportswear retailer JJB Sports and breast cancer charity Walk the Walk.
Alexon chairman Richard Handover said: “David has been involved at an executive level in the retail sector for many years, having instigated and delivered significant changes in our industry. He has worked with a wide range of businesses and achieved great success in a wide variety of roles. We welcome David to the Board and are looking forward to working closely with him.”
