Board shake-up at fashion retailer's AGM
Alexon chairman Patrick Cooper is expected to stand down at the retailer's AGM on June 7. No reason has been given for his departure from the post, but Cooper is expected to stay on at the retailer. He will put himself up for re-election as a non-executive director.

Senior independent director Jim Martin will succeed Cooper as chairman and non-executive director Michael Adams will retire. The retailer said that Adams will be replaced in due course.

Alexon recorded profit before tax of£29.2 million for the latest financial year last month, up from£26.8 million a year ago. However, the retailer said that as a result of the collapse of Allders, where it had 118 concessions, it had to take a£2.2 million exceptional charge.
