Upmarket fashion retailer Aquascutum is understood to be mulling a menswear-only store on London’s Jermyn Street as it seeks to exit its shop on Regent Street.
It is also eyeing up Bond Street, Sloane Street and Marylebone High Street in a bid to open smaller shops in upmarket streets.
The retailer may keep a small presence on Regent Street while selling off the rest of the space to another brand. There are six retailers interested in the store including Superdry and Hollister.
Property agent Cushman & Wakefield acts for the retailer.
Jaeger owner Harold Tillman purchased Aquascutum from Japanese manufacturer Renown in 2009.
Separately, Superdry and Hollister are thought to have made unsolicited approaches for the National Geographic store on Regent Street. However, National Geographic told Retail Week the store is not for sale.
