Argos has rolled out its partnership with delivery specialist Shutl across the UK.
The multichannel retailer will offer the service from 290 stores across 50 towns in the UK.
Shutl will provide shoppers with two delivery options. Customers can either receive an immediate delivery within 90 minutes of purchase or choose a one hour window within the next working day.
Argos has offered the 90 minute delivery service, provided by Shutl, in the capital since August 2010 and extended it to Manchester and Milton Keynes in May.
Shutl, which works by aggregating the capacity of local same-day couriers into a web-based platform which is integrated with retailers’ ecommerce platforms, has previously been focussed largely in London, although Aurora has extended the service to other major cities including Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
In October, Shutl raised $3.2m to launch in the US and Canada.
The delivery firm raised the investment from technology specialists Notion Capital and E Ventures. The move bolsters a $2m investment earlier this year from other shareholders including UPS Strategic Enterprise Fund and Hummingbird Ventures.
