Asda has hired an Allan Leighton protégé to set out a new strategy for its online, home shopping and financial services divisions.

Arnu Misra, who followed Leighton to Cannons Health Clubs and most recently to Canadian grocer Loblaw, has joined Asda to set out a new business strategy, according to The Times.
Last year the grocer set a target to become the biggest non-food retailer in the UK and a world-class dotcom retailer within five years.
Asda is also splitting responsibility for its online business between Simon King, chief operating officer, and Rick Bendel, who will look after marketing.
The reshuffle follows some senior level departures. Mike Logue, commercial director for home and leisure, joined Mothercare, while Bernard Hughes, head of government affairs, joined a quango in January.
John McDowell, a commercial director for non-food, has joined from parent Walmart.
