BAA's net retail income grew by 9.1 per cent to£312 million over the period. Net income per passenger increased by 1.2 per cent to£4.03.
The organisation's retail arm, World Duty Free, posted an operating profit of£13 million, which the company attributed to increasingly sophisticated category management and well-considered promotions targeted at dollar-carrying travellers.
BAA group retail director Brian Collie said: 'Despite the first-year impact of the EU enlargement and the continuing weakness of the dollar, we are well placed to deliver net retail income per passenger in line with last year.'
