Retailers are changing online order and delivery options to avoid disappointing customers at Christmas as a result of renewed cold weather.

John Lewis is the latest to alert shoppers to potential disruption because of snow and icy conditions.

The retailer has suspended premium delivery services across the UK until after Christmas.

John Lewis is no longer guaranteeing pre-Christmas home delivery in Scotland but its click and collect option will be available there until Christmas Eve for orders made by 3pm on Tuesday, December 21.

Pre-Christmas home delivery and click and collect services are available for the rest of the UK if ordered by the same deadline.

Etail giant Amazon’s deadline for delivery by first class post is midday tomorrow, December 18 – two days earlier than was offered last year.

Other retailers to have brought forward order dates for Christmas delivery include Best Buy, Boots, Carphone Warehouse and Jessops.
