Best Buy will begin opening its big box stores in this country in May.
The 50,000 sq ft shop in Thurrock, Essex, will be the first to debut followed by Hedge End, Merry Hill and Aintree.
Best Buy also detailed initiatives and services which it said would differentiate it from rivals. It said staff on 0% commission will be able to offer “truly impartial service”, that it will price match plus 10% on any product and that items can be set up so that customers will leave the shop with their purchases up and running.
Best Buy branded operations chief executive Paul Antoniadis said: “We’re here to make buying technology simple, exciting and tailored to each of our customers.
“Our store in Thurrock marks the beginning of a new chapter and we’re looking forward to bringing the Best buy experience to consumers across the UK.”
Best Buy also said that it has secured its fifth store, which will open in Croydon this autumn.
Best Buy is launching in the UK in partnership with Carphone Warehouse, which formally demerged its broadband and retail businesses today.
