US electricals giant Best Buy has revealed its new management team for its international operations.
Paul Antoniadis has been appointed chief executive officer of Best Buy Brands, a division of Best Buy Europe, the company’s new venture with UK retailer The Carphone Warehouse. He was previously senior vice-president of international retail operations, responsible for growing the brand in China, Mexico and Turkey.
David Berg has been promoted to chief operating officer of Best Buy International, responsible for all operations outside of the US. Previously he was Best Buy executive vice-president, Strategic Alliances.
Tasso Koken has been named Best Buy senior vice-president, international merchandising and global resourcing. Before this he was senior vice-president, merchandising. The new senior vice-president, commercial will be Keith Nelsen, who has been with the retailer since 2005.
Alejandro Montoya has been made vice-president, international strategy. Before this, he was Best Buy’s president and was in charge of global wireless initiatives.
Viewed by many as the world's best electricals retailer, Best Buy sent shockwaves through the market when it announced its intention to enter the UK with the£1.1 billion acquisition of 50 per cent of Carphone Warehouse's retail division in May. In July, Retail Week revealed it may open up to 20 stores in the next 12 months.
