Buy, sell and loan store Cash Generator has unveiled record trading over Christmas.
The 110-strong high street retailer reported a 6.6% like-for-like sales increase fir the six weeks to January 2. Sales of home technology products, such as flat-screen televisions and laptops were buoyant, according to the retailer, aided by strong demand for electronic games and toys.
Julian Urry, managing director of Cash Generator, said: “I am delighted with our Christmas performance. We have enjoyed a busy six weeks of trading and performed well during the Christmas period.”
The company opened 23 stores during 2009 and is planning to open a further 20 this year. Urry said that he expected to announce “record results” for the year that ends on January 31.
