The Pallasades Shopping Centre will be renamed the Grand Central Birmingham, as part of a £600m transformation of New Street railway station.
The centre, which is scheduled to open in Autumn 2014, is expected to become an “integral” part of the city’s retail landscape, complementing the Bullring Birmingham and The Mailbox.
A 250,000 sq ft John Lewis store will anchor the centre, with space for over 50 new “premium” fashion and lifestyle stores.
The project is being delivered by Network Rail on behalf of funding partners including Birmingham City Council, Department for Transport and Centro.
Grand Central is expected to attract “unrivalled” footfall levels.
