Multichannel fashion retailer Boden increased pre-tax profits more than 20 per cent to £27.4 million in the year to December 31.
Sales were also up 19.5 per cent for the year to£153.6 million. Sales in the first half of the new year to June 30 rose at a slower rate, up 9 per cent.
Boden’s US business delivered strong revenues, up 35 per cent, accounting for 31 per cent of the retailer’s total sales last year.
Boden chief executive Julian Granville said: “We are pleased with our 2007 performance in terms of growth and profitability and particularly with the strong progression of our US operations.
“With turnover in the US now surpassing US$100 million [£58.4 million], we have been investing in our US infrastructure with a new warehouse and call centre in Pennsylvania, which opened in January 2008. This presence gives us a platform to improve our US customer service considerably over the next couple of years.
“We have also been pleased with the successful test of the German market and see a material business developing there over the next few years. We see other European markets as a strong growth opportunity for Boden.”
