At Borders she will take on responsibility for buying, supplier relations and inventory management and will start on March 14. Borders UK managing director Philip Downer said: 'She has enormous experience of dealing with suppliers and managing a large inventory. I am confident that she will enhance the infrastructure and systems to support our Borders and Books etc stores.'
Speaking about her move, Ferrier said: 'I enjoyed my time in the book industry immensely and was hoping for a chance to come back.'
Meanwhile, Borders marketing director Louise Collinge will give up responsibility for buying and merchandising to concentrate on marketing when she returns from maternity leave in April.
'As Borders continues to develop, it needs people dedicated separately to marketing and buying and Louise is looking forward to concentrating on her more focused role when she returns,' said a spokeswoman.
