Retailer to sell Virgin Media products in stores as part of range expansion drive
Carphone Warehouse has joined forces with Virgin Media to sell the company’s broadband, digital TV, home phone and mobile services in its stores.
The deal marks the first time Carphone Warehouse has offered a broadband fixed-line package alongside its own Talk Talk service.
Virgin Media acting chief executive Neil Berkett told The Daily Telegraph: “By extending our product portfolio in stores and making it simple and easy for customers to sign up, we’re hoping Virgin Media will be at the top of shopping lists.”
The move follows Carphone Warehouse’s push to expand its product offer in stores beyond its traditional mobile phones. It is offering gadgets that connects to PCs, laptops, stereos and games consoles wirelessly. It is also setting up The Broadband Shop in stores – an area giving the choice of mobile broadband services from T-Mobile, Orange, 3, and fixed-line from Virgin Media, Talk Talk and AOL Broadband.
