The long-standing chief executive of furniture retailer Multiyork has left the company and executive chairman Indira Thambiah has taken full-time charge.
Peter Mallinson quit last week after 15 years in charge of the business. Former Argos and Dixons Retail ecommerce chief Thambiah - who joined Multiyork in August after Gordon Brown retired as chairman due to ill-health - has stepped down from her role as a director of the Yorkshire Building Society so she can devote more time to Multiyork, although she will remain a non-executive director of SuperGroup.
Thambiah has also appointed a former Dixons Retail colleague to the role of retail director with the Norfolk-based sofa maker and retailer. Tim Brennan was head of mixed electricals at Dixons Retail.
