Rob Collins has been appointed retail director at Waitrose replacing Tony Solomons who will be retiring after 30 years with the business.
Collins, currently the supermarket’s personnel director, will undertake the role in January when Helen Hyde, divisional registrar, will move into Collins’ role.
Collins will lead retail operations for Waitrose branches nationwide, along with holding responsibility for Waitrose e-commerce, convenience and hospitality divisions. Hyde will oversee personnel, occupational health, learning and development matters for Waitrose’s 46,000 staff.
Managing director Mark Price said: “Both Rob and Helen bring to their new roles a wealth of experience and a proven track record within Waitrose – their leadership will be invaluable to their respective directorates as we enter the exciting next stages in our development.”
