Amara is an online retailer of luxury gifts and designer homewares. It sells a range of nearly 35,000 products from 250 of the world’s most luxurious home fashion brands, with many of them trading exclusively online with Amara. It also features its own-label brand A by Amara.
What sets Amara apart from online competitors is its exceptional customer services. It emphasises its luxury credentials too.
The pureplay originated as an interior design business, and continues to be run by its founders, husband and wife Andrew and Sam Hood. Although small in scale, Amara has grown rapidly from its inception as a small store in Essex to the global online retailer it is today. It has websites in nine key markets including local language sites in France and Germany.
With foundations laid for international development, the business has been building up its senior team to drive the next phase of growth. The pureplay’s tech focus is on core infrastructure to support future development.
