Childrensalon is a fast-growing retailer specialising in designer fashion for children and babies. The business was originally founded as a shop in Tunbridge Wells in 1952, by the Harriman family who continue to run the retailer today. While it continues to trade through this store, ecommerce now accounts for 99% of turnover. It now delivers to over 160 countries, with a particular focus on expansion to Europe, the Middle East and Russia. It sells over 270 designer childrenswear brands including Burberry, Dolce and Gabbana, and Kenzo. The retailer is currently building up its checkout processes, investing in localised payment options and 24/7 customer service to cover all time zones. The retailer also runs a mobile app launched in 2017 and reward schemes for loyal customers. Exceptional customer service is a key aim and the retailer tries hard to replicate its in-store experience online, for instance through its live chat service that is manned by a team that speaks 25 languages.
