JD Sports Fashion has taken a majority stake in outdoor and technical sporting clothing etailer ActivInstinct.
The acquisition, which was made for an undisclosed sum, is JD’s second in the outdoor space in the past week after it snapped up a majority stake in Tiso.
ActivInstinct has annual sales of £24m. JD will work with its existing management team to increase its presence in the UK and continue its overseas expansion.
JD executive chairman Peter Cowgill said: “”We are delighted to extend our ecommerce and sports and outdoor performance operations through the acquisition of the www.activinstinct.com and www.milletsports.co.uk websites and we look forward to working with its existing management team to continue to grow the business from its Borehamwood premises.”
