SuperGroup, owner of trendy fashion retailer Superdry, has inked a deal with franchisee Demsa Group as it plots Turkish expansion.
SuperGroup has signed a five-year franchise agreement with Demsa Group and its first store will open in Istanbul’s Zorlu Project Mall in October.
Two further stores, one in Istanbul and one in Ankara, will open by early 2014.
Demsa Group is expected to open a minimum of eight Superdry stores during the five years.
Superdry will also be stocked in Harvey Nichols department stores and luxury multi-brand stores Brand Room, both of which are operated by Demsa Group.
Supergroup chief executive Julian Dunkerton said: “Turkey is a territory that has held our interest for some time and our partnership with Demsa Group offers the perfect opportunity to enter this diverse and growing market. Demsa Group has an excellent understanding of our brand ethos and we look forward to growing the partnership.”
