The Garden Centre Group (TGCG) has acquired The Garden & Leisure Group from French garden centre group Louis Delhaize.
Louis Delhaize, which owns the Truffaut fascia in France, has sold the group’s seven large garden centres.
The acquisition brings TGCG’s portfolio to 139 shops. The seven centres are Barnett Hill, Endsleigh, Cadbury, Huntingdon, Gardenlands, Melbicks and Percy Thrower’s.
TGCG was last year acquired by private equity firm Terra Firma for £276m.
Terra Firma chairman Guy Hands said: “We have been actively seeking high quality acquisition opportunities and today’s Garden & Leisure Group deal is a very good fit both with the existing TGCG estate, and our strategic vision for growing the leisure side of the business.”
TGCG chief executive Kevin Bradshaw said: “Adding these unique, destination stores to our group represents a major milestone in our ambitious growth plans and the seven centres, in strong catchment areas, complement our existing estate well.”
