Cortefiel profits surge

Spanish fashion group Cortefiel posted a 48 per cent jump in first-quarter net profit from EUR6.5 million to EUR9.7 million (£4.4 million to£6.5 million). Sales came to EUR197.3 million (£132 million). The second quarter has started strongly - like-for-like sales were up 3 per cent.
