Down2.2 per cent year on year
The footfall gap is closing on 2004 across the country. Shopper numbers were down 2.2 per cent on last year. A FootFall spokeswoman said: 'This is positive news in the last few days before Christmas.'
The 32 per cent week-on-week rise is 'astounding', according to FootFall, and, with only two shopping days left until the big day, the increase is welcome news for retailers.
