The UK isn’t called a nation of animal lovers for nothing, with both Boots and Morrisons attracting complaints for their Christmas ads this year.
Viewers were outraged that in the Boots advert a child dried a dog’s hair with a hairdryer to transform him into a fluffy unicorn while Morrisons was targeted for showing a little boy feeding his hound a plate of Christmas pudding.
Who would have thought keeping a dog dry and well-fed would be a cause for uproar? The Advertising Standards Agency agreed, ruling against the complaints.
