Halfords is pushing its leisure range of ‘staycation’ holiday essentials with the launch of a a nostalgic summer TV ad campaign tonight, May 16.
Halfords’ ad depict a family holidaying in the UK at present – a trend in the continuing economic downturn - and makes comparisons with a family in the 1970s who have also gone back to basics by taking their vacation at home.
The ad uses the strapline ‘The best trips last a lifetime’ and centres on Halfords’ camping and cycling summer holiday essentials, including bikes, tents, roof boxes and cycle carriers.
Halfords chief executive David Wild said: “The ad is designed to evoke our customers’ happiest childhood memories and portray Halfords as the gateway to enjoying the great outdoors with their family and friends.
“Our products and services are designed to ensure our customers have everything they need for their great getaways. So we want to remind people of the part Halfords has played in their holidays and how we can help again this summer.”
