London Designer Outlet welcomed 1 million visitors in its first 11 weeks of trading.
The outlet shopping centre, which opened in Wembley in October, hit the milestone on January 7, according to owner Quintain.
Over the critical Christmas trading period, 500,000 shoppers visited London Designer Outlet in the six weeks to January 5.
In recent weeks further retailers have opened up shop in the centre, including LK Bennett and The Body Shop. Quintain reported that leasing interest “remains strong”. Fashion retailers Bench, New Balance and Replay have all exchanged contracts to open stores and the centre – the first designer outlet in the capital – is now 87% let by rent.
The new signings join existing retailers including Marks & Spencer, H&M, Adidas and Clarks at the 350,000 sq ft London Designer Outlet scheme, which comprises 70 shops. All stores offer up to 70% discounts on current season lines.
Quintain has also secured planning permission for 475 apartments at the scheme.
Quintain chief executive Max James said: “Following the successful creation of a new leisure and retail heart for Wembley Park through London Designer Outlet, momentum is building at the development and we are now poised to begin delivery of one of the most significant new residential districts this quadrant of London has seen for several decades.”
