Home and garden retailer The Range has launched its first national TV ad campaign to encourage viewers to spruce up their homes for summer.
The ads were first screened on Monday and will run until the end of June on regular spots across Channel 5, ITV and selected satellite channels, including ITV2 and ITV3, and 5USA.
The retailer has again teamed up with The Royle Family star Ricky Tomlinson, after he appeared in The Range’s Christmas ad campaign.
There are two different 30-second versions of the ad, which both see a team of gnomes magically transforming the actor’s garden and home into the ‘perfect summer haven’ following a trip to The Range.
The Range owner and founder Chris Dawson also has a cameo appearance in the ad. Dawson said: “We stock more than 65,000 products and the ads are designed to show we’re the one-stop shop for everyone wanting to brighten up their homes and gardens this summer. The latest ads showcase our huge savings across designer interiors and garden furniture.”
The 51-store retailer sees room for 200 shops in the UK. Pre-tax profits nearly doubled from £10.2m to £20.3m in the year to January 31. Turnover increased 21% to £211.7m.
