Temu has become the most downloaded iPhone app in the UK in 2024, according to Apple

The Chinese online marketplace is not only the most downloaded iPhone app in the UK, but it also holds the top position in the US, Germany, Spain, Ireland, Australia, South Korea and Mexico. In Italy, France and Japan, Temu is the second most downloaded iPhone app.

Temu first arrived in the UK in April 2023, but first began operations in the US in September 2022. It now serves over 80 international markets and works as a direct factory platform. 

UK customers are also able to see their Temu orders arrive in as little as one business day as the marketplace is actively recruting UK-based sellers.

A Temu spokesperson said at the time the news was announced that hiring UK-based sellers aims to “broaden the range of affordable, quality products on our platform”.

They continued: “This initiative reflects our strategy to support local businesses while offering customers a more diverse selection of goods.”

Temu products sourced in the UK are understood to be “predominantly bulky goods” such as furniture, tents, winter coats and kitchen appliances.

Local warehouse dispatch is now available in these countries: Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Czechia, Hungary, Sweden, U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.
