TK Maxx aired its first ever TV advert for Red Nose Day during the week, starring singer Lily Allen wearing a charity T-shirt.
TK Maxx’s advert features Allen wearing a special 2015 Red Nose Day T-shirt which is available exclusively at the fasion retailer.
The shirt was designed for Comic Relief, which raises money for charitable projects in Africa and the UK.
It is part of a range of T-shirts available at the retailer which have been designed by famous designers including Karl Lagerfeld, Diane von Furstenberg, Anya Hindmarch, Matthew Williamson and Henry Holland.
The retailer has supported Comic Relief for the past 10 years and raised more than £13.4m, but this is the first year it is running a television campaign.
Deborah Dolce, TK Maxx group director of brand and marketing, said: “We’re passionate about being a responsible retailer. We have a brilliant and long history of giving back and that’s at the heart of how we do business.
“Supporting the local communities where we live and work is really important to us. All our charity partners help vulnerable children and young people to fulfil their potential. Together with our customers, we have raised over £30m for our chosen causes since 2004.”
This year Comic Relief takes place on March 13.
