Debenhams is to launch its ‘Christmas Spectacular’ Sale this Wednesday, offering price cuts of up to 40%.

The Sale runs from November 16 to 20. Discounts are available throughout the store including 20% off womenswear, menswear, kidswear and gifts.

The ‘Christmas Spectacular’ was launched by the department store at the same time last year. Other department stores could follow suit as they fight customer spend in the run up to Christmas.

By launching its Sale in November, Debenhams hopes to capture the ‘early bird shopper’ who wants to spread out the cost of Christmas.

The Sale debuted online yesterday. Followers of the retailer’s Twitter page can get a sneak preview of the in-store Sale on Tuesday.
