Luxury department store Harrods last week opened its £7m revamped toy department that features a room dedicated to science-themed toys called ‘The Odyssey’ as well as a shop featuring real trees in the ‘Enchanted Forest’.
Dubbed the ‘Toy Kingdom’, the 26,000 sq ft department, which has relocated from the fourth to the third floor of the Knightsbridge store, features six zones and is 2,000 sq ft bigger than its previous location.
Products range up to a black, scaled-down Mercedes SLK that runs on petrol at £6995 or a dolls house at £8995.
The department, which took more than two years to complete, was been designed by consultancy Shed and opened on Saturday.
