John Lewis has extended the deadline to make click-and-collect orders in a bid to woo last-minute Christmas shoppers.
The department store retailer has extended its cut-off for customers to make click-and-collect orders by 24 hours to 8pm on December 23.
This extension means that shoppers will be able to collect their purchases at the retailer’s stores until the end of the shopping hours on Christmas Eve.
This extended deadline does not apply to John Lewis’ stablemate Waitrose.
John Lewis operations director Dino Rocos said: “With Christmas Eve falling on a Sunday this year, we’re expecting to see a gifting surge right up until the last minute.
“Our decision to extend Click & Collect cut-off times this Christmas means that for our customers, the stress of Christmas shopping is a thing of the past, allowing them to spend more time with their families and less time chasing parcels at this important time of year.
“In addition, our Click & Collect process is managed internally within the John Lewis network, which helps us to maintain our high level of customer service.”
