John Lewis has bolstered its multichannel team with the appointment of Sienne Veit to the newly created role of director, online product.
The former head of mobile at Morrisons started at John Lewis yesterday following a year as director of her own consultancy, Invisible Stuff. Prior to Morrisons she spent five years at Marks & Spencer.
At John Lewis Veit will be charged with leading the development of the department store group’s online customer experience across all devices. She will report to John Lewis online director Mark Lewis.
Lewis said: “With a deep passion for customer experience and many years working in the digital retail space, Sienne is ideally placed to lead the next stage of our online and omnichannel growth and ensure customer experience across our website, mobile, tablet and other devices is market-leading.”
Veit joins as the retailer prepares to unveil a host of new digital elements in the run up to Christmas. The retailer will, for instance, launch an updated version of its tablet-specific app “with new engaging and interactive content” as part of its mobile strategy.
