John Lewis has opened its first pre-loved luxury fashion pop-up with luxury reseller Sign of the Times.
The pop-up will be at Peter Jones, part of the John Lewis Partnership, on Sloane Square in Chelsea and will run until January 31.
Located on the second floor of the fashion department, shoppers can browse a variety of pre-loved designer items from brands including Chanel, Gucci, Moncler and Loewe.
John Lewis head of category for fashion brands Beth Pettet said: “We’re proud and excited to introduce Sign of the Times pre-loved clothing and accessories into our Peter Jones shop.
“This is our first pre-loved fashion pop-up, which will offer a stylish, premium edit of designer products that will encourage our customers to support a more sustainable and unique way to shop. A pre-loved item is the perfect present to give this Christmas.”
Sign of the Times owner and chief executive Antonia Johnstone added: “Sign of the Times started nearly 50 years ago in Chelsea, so we are thrilled to be working with Peter Jones due to the synergy between the brands’ heritage, location and passion for customer service.
“We are excited to curate a beautiful selection for the Peter Jones clientele, so they can experience pre-loved in all its sustainable glory this Christmas.”
The pop-up arrives as consumers increasingly turn to second-hand items. Consignment company and thrift store ThredUp’s resale report said secondhand and discount sectors are expected to take up 37% of wardrobes by 2031 compared to 26% in 2021.
