DFS has appointed BBC marketing director Helen Normoyle as chief marketing officer.
Normoyle joins the sofa giant from the broadcaster, where she has been marketing director since September 2010 following a stint as its director of audiences.
The retailer appointed communications agency Krow to handle its $84m advertising account in November following a detailed review into its marketing in August, reports Marketing.
In December, DFS has posted a fall in quarterly sales and earnings but said it is continuing to invest in expansion and confident in longer-term prospects.
After investment of £2m, DFS generated EBITDA of £8.7m in the 13 weeks to October 29 compared to £15.2m in the comparable period last year. Revenues fell from £149.6m to £128.2m.
