US fashion brand Ed Hardy has closed its store at Westfield London after the Australian arm of the retailer collapsed into administration.

The licence for the Westfield store was negotiated by Ed Hardy Australian director Gary Berman. The Australian operation fell into administration this week.

Ed Hardy’s UK distributor Valorous said the rest of the UK arm remains unaffected, including its only other UK store in Manchester, which Valorous sales director Christopher Varnavides said was “doing really well”.

Ed Hardy is in the process of trying to buy back the lease for the Westfield London store from Australian administrators in order to reopen it.

The brand is also preparing to open more UK stores including one at Cardiff’s St David’s centre.  It has around 70 stores across countries including the US, France and Japan.

Westfield declined to comment.
