The chief executive of Dixons Carphone’s international business has resigned to take up an “unmissable opportunity” at one of Norway’s biggest listed companies.
Jaan Ivar Semlitsch has led the Dixons Carphone international business for the last seven years and leaves it in a “healthy financial position as market leader in every country”.
Semlitsch is joining the consumer goods giant Orkla in Norway as its new chief executive.
Dixons Carphone has already appointed a new chief executive of international and its Nordic arm Elkjøp.
Former chief financial officer Erik Sønsterud will take the reins after overseeing the performance and development of its Nordic strategy over the last two years and will report directly to Dixons Carphone chief executive Alex Baldock.
Baldock said: “Erik’s experience of understanding customer needs and helping them afford and enjoy products and services makes him well placed to lead our international business and support us all on our journey towards our vision – we help everyone enjoy amazing technology.”
