The first Comet stores are poised to close next week as closing down sales begin tomorrow.

Around 30 of its 236 stores are expected to close next week after the electricals retailer collapsed into administration earlier this month.

The number of set to be lost remains unclear however the chain employs 6,600 stores in total.

The home delivery arm is set close this weekend with 500 jobs to be axed.
