Games Workshop has said sales have been ahead of expectations in January and February, with “strong trading” across both the core business and licensing.

This meant the group’s profit before tax for the 12 months to June 1, 2025, is likely to be ahead of expectations, the company said.

The hobby and toy company, which joined the FTSE 100 list of the UK’s leading companies last year, had already reported its best-ever half-one performance in January.

Sales were up by 20.9% to reach £299.5m, while profit before tax increased by a third to reach £126.8m in the six months to December 1, 2024.

Core revenue from its retail operation was bolstered by an increase in licensing revenue. It confirmed a deal with Amazon for film and television rights to its Warhammer 40,000 universe in December.

The brand also announced planning permission for a fourth UK factory at their headquarters in Nottingham with the expectation this will be completed in summer 2026.
