The new owners of HMV have reinstated the entertainment retailer’s loyalty programme PureHMV.
The loyalty scheme, which originally launched in 2008, offers members one point for every 1p spent in HMV stores and one point for every 2p spent on its website.
Customers can build up their points in return for a selection of one-off products and trips including an Official 1D book signed by all members of One Direction, a Wolverine poster signed by Hugh Jackman, the chance to win an all-expenses-paid trip to Berlin to see Keane in concert and a signed Jake Bugg guitar.
Under owners Hilco, HMV will honour outstanding points collected before the retailer fell into administration in January. Hilco acquired HMV out of administration in April.
Customers have until January 31 to reactivate their account on the website. Previous point balances will be transferred over within 14 days.
The PureHMV launch forms part of a raft of initiatives launched in recent weeks, including an MP3 downland store, app and relaunched ecommerce site.
Dan Truscott, managing director of PureHMV, said: “We’re delighted to bring PureHMV back to our loyal customers and thank them for their patience whilst we rejuvenated the programme. Returning previous point balances to our members in the run up to Christmas, whilst also inviting new members to join, is great news for all HMV enthusiasts who want access to great offers and exclusive money can’t buy opportunities.”
