Retailer seeks minority investors to fund expansion
Evans Cycles has denied reports that it is on the verge of being sold for£35 million to Sports Direct.

An Evans Cycles spokesman admitted that the Crawley-based retailer had been in discussion with Sports Direct, this was part of an attempt to secure minority investment to fund future expansion for the 31-strong chain.

He added that talks on this basis had been held with a number of other parties and that Evans was also exploring the possibility of expanding through debt financing.
