Farfetch (Overview)
Founded in 2007 by José Neves and launched the following year, Farfetch is a global online destination for luxury fashion. It was floated on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) in 2018 with a $6.3bn (£4.7bn) valuation but has subsequently fallen in value as a series of acquisitions and deals saw the retailer repeatedly change its strategic direction. By 2023 it was valued at just $221m (£178m), announcing the delay of its third quarter results by the end of the same year as its financial turmoil mounted.

Group revenues rose 2.7% to $2,316.7m (£1,879.6m) on a reported basis in 2022, although growth came in at a more respectable 11.9% on a constant currency basis. While the group notched up its second year in the black at the pre-tax level, operating losses continued to escalate, nearly doubling from $476.2m (£346.4m) in 2021 to $847.2m (£687.3m) over the more recent year.
