- Former Next executive Christos Angelides to leave after 15 months
- Fran Horowitz, president of Hollister brand, will take newly created role of chief merchandising officer
- Mike Jeffries left as chief executive a year ago
Fashion retailer Abercrombie & Fitch brand president Christos Angelides has left after just 15 months at the US-based business.
Angelides was poached last year by Abercrombie & Fitch from UK high street retailer Next, where he was group product director.
He had been touted as a possible contender for the top job at the fashion firm after chief executive Mike Jeffries left a year ago.
In another change revealed today, Fran Horowitz, president of the Hollister brand, will take up the newly created role of chief merchandising officer at the retailer with immediate effect.
She will report to executive chairman Arthur Martinez and have responsibility for all customer-facing activities across the firm’s brands.
“This promotion provides Fran the opportunity to play an even greater role in our future success as we focus on building shareholder value by positioning each of our brands for sustainable growth,” said Martinez.
He added that Abercrombie & Fitch is on track to deliver an improvement in year-on-year sales and meet its profit expectations for its fourth quarter.
