Sir Philip Green’s Arcadia fashion group is understood to have promoted Burton brand director Wesley Taylor to head menswear for Burton and Bhs as part of the merger of Bhs with Arcadia.
Taylor – who has been at Arcadia for more than five years – is thought to have been appointed to group head of menswear across both chains. It is not yet known whether he will have any responsibility for Topman.
Bhs was merged into Arcadia in February this year, as Green moved to streamline his businesses and cut costs. It is understood Taylor’s promotion is part of a wider restructuring of the newly merged company. Arcadia was poised to make an internal announcement regarding the changes as Retail Week went to press.
In a further sign of integration, Arcadia will next week debut its Evans brand in Bhs’ Oxford Street store.
Arcadia is already trialling a “house of brands” format in Bhs, whereby Bhs stores sell brands such as Dorothy Perkins and Burton – part of the Arcadia group – in 16 stores including Coventry and Nottingham.
Arcadia declined to comment.
